December Finest & Rarest Auction $13.3M, 100% Sold
Monday, December 22nd– Hart Davis Hart’s three-day December Finest and Rarest Auction totaled $13,322,469, with 1087 bidders from around the world placing more than 21,000 pre-sale absentee bids and purchasing 100% of the 3,246 lots offered. The auction took place on Wednesday, December 17th, Thursday, December 18th and Friday, December 19th and featured three remarkable collections that exceeded expectations. The December auction brings a spectacular 2025 to a close at HDH, with the year’s auction sales totaling $87,205,196 — a 20% increase over 2024. Of the 28,033 lots offered over the course of the year, 28,029 sold (99.99%). These impressive 2025 results solidify Hart Davis Hart as the global leader in fine wine auctions, driven by the firm’s best-in-class bidding technology, the largest bidder community and industry-leading hammer prices.

Wednesday’s session featured The Aria Collection (lots 97-478), a Burgundy and Rhone focused group purchased largely on release and boasting pristine conditions. The collection fetched $2,147,877 versus pre-sale estimates of $1,330,150-1,991,403, with the white Burgundy selections and particularly an offering of Domaine Raveneau leading the charge. Spirited bidding for 4 bottles of 1985 Chablis, Montée de Tonnerre, Domaine Raveneau (lot 370) drove the lot to a world record price of $11,950, more than four times its pre-sale estimate.
