Last week’s Hart Davis Hart Auction generated sales totaling $13,537,259, surpassing its pre-sale low estimate of $9.4M. The auction sold 100% of its 3,174 lots over two action-packed days.

The top lots of the day included multiple vintages of DRC’s Romanée-Conti, Domaine Leroy, and some dazzling examples of Bordeaux. From the Vintner’s Collection, a 5L of Château Le Pin fetched $57,360, and six magnums of 2000 Château Pétrus brought in $47,800. The top lot of the sale hammered at the exact midpoint of its high and low estimates: three magnums of 2006 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Romanée-Conti realized $89,625.

HDH attracts the industry’s largest bidding pool, with over 1,000 bidders participating in last week’s sale. Auctioneers opened lots for live bidding with over 20 absentee bids in place. Global participation continues to grow exponentially from Asia, South America and Western Europe.
