An Iconic Pair: Pillars of Remarkable Taste brought Hart Davis Hart’s auction season to a close with an astounding $10,867,067 in sales on Thursday, June 26th and Friday, June 27th. One hundred percent of the 2,645 lots sold to over 940 bidders. A Library of Excellence (lots 40-703) and The East End Collection (lots 1641-2148) were the two ‘Pillars’ at the helm of HDH’s June auction, which across the two days represented the collections of many longtime friends and impressive cellars. Hart Davis Hart has sold $42,297,383 across four auctions in 2025 – a greater than 38% increase over 2024’s sales year to date, and the largest first half for wine auction sales in HDH’s history. HDH’s $42,297,783 exceeds the US sales of any other house in 2025 and further establishes HDH as the global leader in fine wine auctions.
Hart Davis Hart was honored to present The East End Collection (lots 1621-2148), the product of a lifetime of collecting by passionate connoisseurs. The emphasis in The East End was on top producers and vintages, and on large formats intended to be shared and enjoyed. Many of these legendary wines were offered in original wood cases which had been banded prior to inspection by HDH, and bidders took note. All told The East End Collection soared past its pre-sale estimate of $2.3M-$3.5M to achieve $3,810,449, with more than half of its lots selling above the high estimate. The top lot of the auction was a methuselah of 1999 La Tâche, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti hailing from The East End Collection, which stunned the bidding audience by nearly doubling its pre-sale high estimate and selling for $179,250, a world-record price (lot 1739, est. $60,000-90,000).
