An Auction of Finest & Rarest Wine, including A Celebration of Burgundy, is now open for early bidding. This two-day sale features remarkable consignments and bottles with perfect provenance from all major regions, in addition to Burgundy. Live bidding will occur on Thursday, May 5th and Friday, May 6th starting at 9am ET both days. Download our mobile app or visit us online to register, and be sure to follow us on Instagram @hdhwine for more highlights.
As we begin the sale on Thursday morning, HDH will present A Treasure Trove of Burgundy with Highlights of Champagne and the Rhône Valley in lots 89 – 160. As this auction is our annual Celebration of Burgundy, it is only fitting to begin the day with the legendary names of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Armand Rousseau, Roumier, and J.F. Mugnier. These lots were purchased on release or directly from highly regarded European retailers and stored professionally since acquisition.
Continuing Thursday’s offerings, The Financier’s Collection makes a highly anticipated return to the Hart Davis Hart auction block with The Financier’s Collection Part II (lots 161-201). HDH is honored once again to represent the wines from this esteemed collector. Bidders will remember the excitement this collection brought in its initial installment in September 2021, with an incredible depth of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in original wooden cases. On May 5, in addition to DRC with impeccable provenance, several lots of Comte Georges de Vogüé will round out the selection.
Bidders will also want to review lots 202-221, A Sterling Selection of Exalted French Wines. The owner is a dear friend of HDH and – like so many in this auction – a longtime client and repeat consignor. With a focus on Romanée-Conti, including remarkable OWC offerings and rare magnums, this is truly a group of gems that have been carefully purchased and stored.
Selections from the Cellar of Mr. Keith Mosing (lots 975 – 1085) will begin the second day of bidding, Friday, May 6. Mr. Mosing is a dedicated, lifelong figure in the Houston wine community. A regular attendee at the annual Hospices de Beaune auction, Mr. Mosing purchased a barrel of 2009 Hospices de Beaune Mazis-Chambertin, Cuvée Madeleine Collignon, Louis Jadot which we will begin to offer in this auction.
